Micah Faulkner

Intro.

Micah Faulkner is a co-founder and artist for MONOLITH. Studying Secondary Education at IUPUI in Indianapolis, he is aimed at a career in teaching English to our nation's middle-schoolers. Micah worked as an artist and writer for Blue comics, and has been a professional tattoo and freelance artist. Micah has studied art at Cranbrook in Birmingham, Michigan; Ball State University; and tattoo apprenticeships under his mentors: Eric Meiring, Dan Dexter, and Mark Agee. He considers himself, for the most part, self-taught.

With Josh Dahl he created the unpublished Battery comic which featured a character entirely unrelated to the Battery in Rapid City. For Blue comics he wrote and drew The Pack which appeared in the Blue Extravaganza. Since that time he has worked as a tattoo and freelance artist in Indiana.

Micah and his wife Chaleen live with two little dogs in an idyllic suburban setting. Anyone who has seen Micah working in his yard could confirm that he spent several years in the tattoo parlors of Indianapolis. Micah goes far above and beyond the requirements of Rapid City and still finds time to pursue a degree at Indiana University.
